BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA -1stSgt Jimmy Lee Mullins Sr., U. S. Marine Corps (Ret.), 60, of Beaufort, South Carolina, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at his residence.
He was born in Richlands, Virginia on September 22, 1952, a son of Emory Carl Mullins, Sr. and the late Alice Marie Patton Mullins. Jimmy served 22 years in the United States Marine Corps. He started Mullins Trucking Company in April 1994. Jimmy was past President of Phi Theta Kappa while attending the Technical College of the Lowcountry from 1990-1991 and was student of the year in 1991. He was the most giving man who would give you the shirt off his back. Jimmy cared and loved for his family deeply. He won Father of the Year in 1977 aboard Laurel Bay. His employees loved and respected him. Jimmy was a believer in Jesus. His favorite quote was "Actions speak louder than words." In addition to his mother, Jimmy was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Lee Mullins, Jr., and a grandson, Jason. Jimmy is survived by three children, Juli-Anna Mullins-Warren, Patricia Lynn Mullins, and Charles Lee Mullins; his father, Emory Carl Mullins, Sr.; eight grandchildren, Jasmine, Justine, Josephine, Andrew, Johnathon, Gabriella, Blake, and Jace and his siblings, Judith Meade, Emory Carl Mullins Jr., Janice Mullins, Jennifer Mullins, and Jacquie Wood. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday at Copeland Funeral Service - One Copeland Drive. The funeral service will be held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at Community Bible Church. The interment, with full military honors, will be at 11 o'clock Friday morning in Beaufort National Cemetery.
