James Johnston

James “Jim” Edward Johnston, 76, of Port Royal died, Friday, September 20, 2024 at his residence.
Jim was born in Downsville, LA to the late James Harold and Lessie Marie Patrick Johnston. Jim was a United States Marine. Jim was involved with many organizations, including D.A.V. National Order of Trench Rats 9578, NRA, American Legion, Masonic Lodge and a Shriner– Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Royal Arch Mason, Knight Templar-, Moose Lodge, AMVETS, VFW, and Royal and Select Masters of Bluffton. Jim was of the Catholic faith. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Carol Miner Gregory.
Jim is survived by two stepsons Kevin Thurston and Michael Gregory and a stepdaughter Shawn Wolcott.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 9:30 a.m., Friday, September 27th at Copeland Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 27th at Beaufort National Cemetery with United States Marine Corps honors.
