Art Grimm, age 91, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in Bluffton, SC.  Art was a 1939 Graduate of Washington High School.  Art served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and from 1942-1945 in the U.S. Army in Germany.  He was a graduate of the Ohio State University in Journalism.  He spent most of his career in Chicago where he edited several farm related journals and was Editor of the Allendale County Citizen Newspaper in SC.  He was an avid and excellent golfer.  His first wife Raye of Chicago and his second wife Elizabeth (Betty) Palmer of Allendale, SC are deceased.





Art was one of 13 children of Arthur and Verna Grimm who last resided at 725 Broadway, Washington C.H., Ohio.





Art is survived by one brother Paul and his wife Elizabeth of Myrtle Beach, SC, one sister Carol Perry and Husband Edward of Frankfort, Ohio, and one brother-in-law Mack Woodgeard of Atlanta.  A close friend and son-in-law is Cliff Henry. Art has three step-daughters, Alice Evridge, Mary Palmer and Elizabeth Henry and five grandchildren, Porcher K. Scott, John Kirkland, Ashley Henry, Chandler Henry and Victoria Henry.  His great granddaughter is Elizabeth Porcher Scott.





A family gathering to celebrate Art's life is planned.  A formal service will not take place.





Art's devotion to family and friends during health and illness is heartwarming and inspiring. His compassion, great wit and good deeds will live-on for generations.
