Barbara C. Bopp, 89 of Fripp Island, SC. passed away on March 18th 2025. Barbara was born on October 11th 1935 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Mary Hoeflich. 

Barbara met and fell in love with Joseph Bopp and spent the majority of her life with Joe in the Chicago suburbs raising their children. Barb and Joe fulfilled their dream of retiring to their coastal beach home on Fripp Island. They were married for 44 years until Joe’s passing in 2004. Barb was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and always made their visits special making their favorite foods and treats. Barb was an active parishioner at Holy Cross Mission and St. Peter’s Parish and devoted her time to the Lord at Perpetual Adoration. As a member of the Rosary Club, Barb handcrafted rosaries to ship to soldiers and others in need of spiritual support. Barb stood strong in her faith, and as her health deteriorated her faith deepened. She spent countless hours praying for her family, friends and those in need. 

Survivors include her children, Joseph (Mimi) Bopp of Fredericksburg, VA, Katherine Glomski of Kalamazoo, MI, and Karen (David) Spreitzer of Plainfield, IL; grandchildren, Austin (Mary Katherine) and Spencer (Kendall) Bopp, Lian and Anna Glomski, and Caitlyn, Matthew and Nicholas Spreitzer; great-grandchildren Anna Kate, John Britton, Brooks and Bennett Bopp, sister Carol (Robert) Danaher and brother Peter (Phoung) Hoeflich,and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her parents, John and Mary Hoeflich; her sisters Marilyn (the late James) Kozak, Joan (the late Walter) Masnyk and Theresa (the late Robert) Bryant; brothers Louis, John (the late Perrue and the late Donna), Richard (the Late Elsa), Michael and William (Jody). 

A funeral mass will be held at 11am March 24 th at Holy Cross Mission 83 Seaside Rd, St Helena’s Island. Followed by internment next to her beloved husband in the columbarium at Fripp Island.
