CALLAWASSIE - Blanche Rhett Billing Smith died quietly on Sunday April 19, 2015. She was 84 years old.
Born in Charleston, SC she was the daughter of Fred C. Billing and Blanche Rhett Billing.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years J. Corson (Corky) Smith, daughter Christopher S. Kotler of Arnold MD, son Geoffrey L. Smith and his wife Justine of Longs SC, nephew Douglas W. Smith and his family of Charlotte VT, niece Leef Barnes and her family of Cambridge England, sister-in-law Nancy Billing and her family of Charlotte, NC the wife of Blanche's deceased brother Fred C. Billing Jr., grandchildren Jeremy Smith and his family of Stevensville MD, Jason Smith and his wife Melissa of Washington, DC, Joseph Kotler and Henry Kotler of Arnold MD, Brianna Smith of Longs, SC.
Blanche attended Annapolis High School in MD. She continued her education at the Kent Place School in Short Hills, NJ, Mt. Holyoke College and Katherine Gibbs in New York. She worked for American Home Magazine in NY and Ciba Pharmaceuticals in Summit, NJ. She dearly loved life, her family and her friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
