BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA - Carl Laicharoff, MGySgt USMC (Ret.), 88, of Beaufort, South Carolina and widower of Toyoko Laicharoff, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Bayview Manor.
Carl was born in Youngstown, Ohio and was a son of the late Matthew and Anna Spzak Laicharoff. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and two tours in Vietnam. Carl was a member of the Beaufort Power Squadron.
Carl is survived by a daughter, Anna Ghionis of Beaufort; two sisters, Mary Ann Donofrio of Youngstown, Ohio and Dorothy Chwalik of Fostoria, Ohio; a brother, Chris Christy of Boca Raton, Florida, and a grandson, Constantine Ghionis of Beaufort.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Tuesday at Copeland Funeral Service - One Copeland Drive.
A graveside service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning at Beaufort National Cemetery with full Marine Corps honors.
