Carol Love Walters was born on April 12, 1949, a daughter of Carrol Grayson Love, of V. E. Love and Sons Tire Store of Savannah, Georgia, and Gwendolyn Harrison Love, personal secretary of Mills B. Lane, President of C & S Bank. Carol spent her childhood in Savannah, attending H. V. Jenkins High and singing in the choir at Burkhalter Baptist Church, where she first met her husband-to-be. A talented Soprano, she was awarded a Voice Scholarship to Brewton Parker College. She was to married Furmon Wayne Walters on March 14, 1970. The Walters moved to Beaufort, SC in 1979 where Carol became a member of The Baptist Church of Beaufort and sang in the choir as a soloist and was a part of the Sonshine Singers. Carol operated an in-home day care for children of teachers and church members, a career that spanned three decades. She was a member of her church until her passing. On December 20, 2016, Carol passed peacefully in her sleep at her home at the age of 67. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, and two sons, J. Keith Walters and his wife, Julia, and N. Dru Walters and his wife, Arianna. The family will receive friends from 10 until 10:45 Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at The Baptist Church of Beaufort. A funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday followed by a reception at the church.
