Charles Donald Haddock, Sr husband of Ella Haddock passed away peacefully Saturday, March 19, 2022, at his home.
He was born in Walterboro, SC to the late Lewis M. Haddock, Sr and Mary Ella Haddock March 12, 1948. He was 74 years old.
Donald served in the US Navy from 1967-1970 including a tour in Vietnam. After leaving the Navy, he worked Civil Service on Parris Island and later transferred to Kingsbay Naval Submarine Base where he later retired.
Donald is survived by his wife, Ella of 29 years, and 4 children: Son, Donnie Haddock of Beaufort, SC; Son, Christopher Haddock and wife, Traci Haddock of Beaufort, SC; Daughter, Jody Smith of Beaufort, SC; Daughter, Shannon Fallin and husband Kevin of Beaufort, SC. 7 grandchildren: Angela Darby, Savanna Smith, Cheyanne Holcomb, Kyle Fallin, Lee Fallin, Breanna Haddock, and Andrew Haddock all of Beaufort, SC.
Donald was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather 'Papa'. He was the happiest when his children and grandchildren were around. He was a craftsman at woodworking and traveled to craft shows in his spare time. Donald loved tinkering with his vehicles as well. He had hands of a strong, dependable, loving man. His wife, children, and grandchildren knew they could always depend on him for help or give them advice. He will be missed and remembered by those that came to know him.
Donald was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Mary Ella Haddock and his younger brother Lewis M. Haddock II. Graveside services will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery on March 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital Greenville, 950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605 and Lowcountry Foundation for Wounded Military Heroes, 20 Towne Drive #199, Bluffton, SC 29910.
