Cheryl Ann Beal Roberts died Wednesday, 25 January 2017, in Charleston, South Carolina, after becoming ill that day at her home in Beaufort. She retired to Beaufort in 2014 after a career as a surgical nurse for several practices and hospitals in the Columbus, OH area. In retirement, Cheryl and her husband Wayne enjoyed travel with friends and family. They were also actively involved with The Friends of Hunting Island Sea Turtle Conservation Project. Cheryl was born in Wilmington, OH on 28 July 1949 to Harold Robert Beal (1928-2013) and Mary Anglea Knisley (1929-1988) both natives of that town. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Wharton of Beaufort, a native of Columbus, OH; daughter, Cynthia Whitaker (Chris) of Baltimore, MD; son, Chad Roberts (Dana) of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Craig Beal (Leslie) of Jamestown, OH; and cousins, Keith of Cincinnati and Jennifer (Dana Dunn) of Wilmington. Also surviving are her dear Aunt Rosie Knisely Beal, her mother's sister, and Uncle Kenny Beal, her father's brother, of Wilmington. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
