BEAUFORT - David Daniel (Danny) Pevey, Sr., born October 1, 1949 of Beaufort, South Carolina, died September 8, 2014 at River Oaks Assisted Living after a 10 month battle with an aggressive brain cancer.
His survivors include Gail Blocker Pevey of Beaufort, his wife of 33 years; a daughter Kimberly P. Keith, her husband Wesley and their daughter Hadley of Richmond, Virginia; his son David D. Pevey, Jr. and his wife Desiree of Burton; his two brothers, George W. Pevey of Sylvania, Georgia and Charles T. (Tommy) Pevey of Baxley, Georgia; a sister, Louise Annette P. Fasick of Beaufort and several nieces and nephews.
Danny was a retired member of International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 26 in Savannah, Georgia. He was a charter member of Savannah Christian Church, a member of First Christian Church of Shell Point and served in the Air Force and is a Vietnam veteran.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Winton Pevey, his mother Elsie Louise Deal Pevey and his grandson Landon David Pevey.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, September 10, 2014 at Copeland Funeral Services with a memorial service at 11:00 o'clock conducted by Steve Helmly and George Pevey with burial at the National Cemetery at 12:00 noon with full military honors.
