Dian Lynn Kerkering

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA -  Dian Lynn Kerkering passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2011 after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. She has been surrounded by many friends and family who love her. Dian wanted to spare her family of the details of taking care of 'unfinished business'. So, she prepared the following obituary for us: "I was born just after midnight on Saturday, April 5, 1947 in Bethesda, Maryland. I spent 40 years as an insurance professional. I moved often, saw a lot and met many people. My greatest pride has been my relationships. It has been a most interesting adventure.  To my mother, sisters, daughters, husband and friends: I love you. It has been an honor and a joy to have you in my life. Thank you." Dian was an avid reader all of her life; loved the piano; enjoyed both classical and jazz music; worked crossword puzzles in ink; was a good swimmer and a devotee of the beach. She had always won at trivia games and scrabble. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life with a reception following to be held on Monday, November 21st at 2pm at the TidePointe Clubhouse. Burial will be private. Dian requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to: Hospice Care of the Low Country, 119 Palmetto Way, Bluffton, South Carolina 29910.
