BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA - Dolly Bishop Lambert, 77, of Beaufort, widow of John W. Lambert, died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Morningside Assisted Living. Mrs. Lambert was born in Swainsboro, GA. She was a daughter of the late Wesley and Maggie Lee Bishop. Mrs. Lambert served as a bookkeeper in Savannah Ga., was employed with the Naval Intelligence Service, Parris Island, and was owner and operator of several businesses in Beaufort, including Shell Point Plaza, Kiddies Korners/Steppin Up, Red & White Grocery Store and Subs Delite. She was an active member of The Baptist Church of Beaufort, Beaufort Lions Club, Hilton Head R.V. Chapel, the Ha Ha Sisters organization, and Broad River Garden Club. She was twice married first to the late Homer M. "Snooky" Thompson. She was predeceased by a daughter Kathyrn Leigh Thompson and a brother Emory Bishop, and brother in law John Bell. Mrs. Lambert is survived by a son, Stephen M Thompson and wife Suzanne of Beaufort; daughters Kelli Boniecki and husband Dennis of Ridgeland, Kristi Shields and husband Jason of Dacula, GA., Rose Ludlow and husband Bob of Drexhil Hill, PA.; sisters Nell Bell of Swainsboro, Ga. and Betty Benes and husband Tom of Spotsylvania, VA.; grandchildren Weslie and Kyle Thompson and Davis and Carter Shields. Mrs. Lambert's family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Copeland Funeral Service- One Copeland Drive. Funeral service for Mrs. Lambert will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, at The Baptist Church of Beaufort with The Reverend Doctor Jim Wooten and The Reverend Doctor Robert Cuttino officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family request that memorials be made to The Beaufort Lions Club, P.O.
