BEAUFORT - Donald U. Dorn born in Parksville, SC, widower of Betty P. Dorn and the son of the late George Dewey Dorn and Minnie Lou Parks Dorn, died Saturday, December 27 in Beaufort.
Mr. Dorn worked for the railroad from the time he was fourteen years old. In the late 1970's, the Dorns moved to Orange Park, FL where Don was in management with CSX.
Surviving are daughters Robyn Dorn Mark (Larry) of Beaufort, SC, and Julie Dorn Spencer (Mark) of Middleburg, FL; a sister, Sara Dorn Bugg (Julian) of North Augusta, SC; four grandchildren, Alyson Mark Wiggins (Kent) of Columbus, GA, Alexander Dorn Mark (Stefany) of Beaufort, SC, Travis Marcus Spencer and Abigail Lyn Spencer of Middleburg, FL; five great-grandchildren, Andrew Wiggins, Joshua Mark, Austin Wiggins, Lauren Wiggins, and Charles Mark.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, Mr. Dorn was preceded in death by his brother, Marion Dewey Dorn, as well as his sister, Iris Dorn Bearden.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 11AM at First Scots Presbyterian Church, 302 Burroughs Avenue, Beaufort, SC. Graveside will be at 1PM Tuesday at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL. The services will be officiated by Mr. Dorn's Grandson, Rev. Alex Mark.
