Dr. H. Lee Mathews, lovingly known as "Buck", age 76, of Worthington, Ohio, and Fripp Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on December 6, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.   He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on June 17, 1939, and grew up in Lima, Ohio.  He was an Eagle Scout and later went on to attend the University of Illinois, and received his MBA and Doctorate from The Ohio State University.  Buck began his teaching career on the faculty of Penn State University as a Professor of Marketing.  He achieved Full Professor at the age of 30 and served as the Department Chairman.  He later went on to The Ohio State University where he passionately worked from 1977 to 2009 as a Professor and the Chairman of the Marketing Faculty.  Buck was a gifted teacher and established deep relationships with his students.   At Ohio State, he accumulated countless awards and honors including Outstanding Professor of the Year by the MBA class (4 times), the Pace Setters Award for Outstanding Graduate Professor (2 times) and even the Sigma Chi Outstanding Teacher Award.  Buck also conducted and translated market research information into strategic plans for many Fortune 500 companies and served on The Executive Education Faculty at Syracuse University, Louisiana State University and the University of Michigan.  His accomplished career included over 100 publications.  Upon retirement in 2009, The Ohio State University granted him Professor Emeritus, the highest honor a professor can receive.   He retired to Fripp Island, South Carolina where he enjoyed serving as the President of the POA and also on many community committees.  He loved golfing, boating and fishing.  He was proud to have earned status of Advanced Pilot. His private life included being the proud father of four children and 10 grandchildren, Sarah and John Roesch (Braden and Owen) of Worthington, Ohio; Elizabeth and Jim Caudill (Cole, Brock and Trent) of Montville, New Jersey; Colin Mathews (William and Riley) of Gahanna, Ohio; and Alix and Edward Soske (Payton, Rory Lee and Tucker) of Barrington Hills, Illinois.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Martha and William Mathews, and his brother, Jim.  He is survived by his sister Mary Bob Rubenstein, brother-in-law Jack Rubenstein, and sister-in-law Lynne Mathews.  He is also survived by his greatest companion Skylar Blue and soul mate and loving wife Patricia Ann Mathews whom he met on a blind date on February 14, 1964 and married six months later.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2014 with their entire family present, a win over Michigan in The Horseshoe, and their name on the jumbotron. (He loved this!)
