Edgar Hund, 93, of Niceville, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Edgar was born May 14, 1931, in Zagreb, Croatia, to Carl Hund and Stefanija Bogdanovic. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Shirley Hund. He is survived by sons Erik Hund (Susan) and Thor Hund (Nicole) as well as his grandchildren Christian Hund (Jennifer), Alexander Hund, Madelyn Hund, Allanah Hund and Cody Hund.
He served in the United States Air Force for 25 years and for an additional 15 years with the Department of Defense as a civilian. Edgar will be remembered for his love of cooking, fishing, working with bonsai plants, his woodworking skills, and his knowledge of world history. Edgar was also a lifelong learner, always interested in how things worked and was enrolled in a marine biology class at the time of his passing.
A service for Edgar will be held at 12 o'clock noon, October 25, 2024 at Copeland Funeral Service Chapel, Beaufort, South Carolina. Burial will take place at 1 o'clock October 25, 2024 at Beaufort National Cemetery with full honors.
