Edward Corliss Dornisch, 74, of Beaufort, South Carolina and formerly of Woodbury, New Jersey, and husband of Mildred "Sweetie" Adele Kosteck Dornisch, died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Mr. Dornisch was born November 11, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Elizabeth Welsh Corliss and Henry Joseph Dornisch. He served on the USS Randolph CVS-15 as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate E 3rd Class in the United States Navy from October 1959 until November 1962, when he was honorably discharged. Mr. Dornisch and his wife were owners of Henry J Dornisch, Inc. (1963 - 2014) and A & B Safe Company (1996 - 2014), which were moving, hauling and safe distributors. Mr. Dornisch is also formerly of Beach Haven, New Jersey and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his sister, Kathryn Dornisch Dresden. Mr. Dornisch is survived by his wife of 50 years; their daughter, Kimberly Lynn Dornisch of Hartford, Connecticut; their son, Scott Edward Dornisch and his wife, Elizabeth Anne Christensen Dornisch, of California, Maryland; two granddaughters, Zoe Layne and Mia Elizabeth Dornisch; and his brother, Henry Dornisch of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was an avid sailor who loved the water and was excited to call Beaufort, South Carolina his new home. He had a huge appetite for adventure, food, and life. He loved spending time with his family and was always ready with a smile and a laugh. He was deeply loved and will be missed. No memorial service is scheduled at this time.
