LADY'S ISLAND - Elizabeth Mary "Betty" - McNall, beloved wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Tuesday, November 19, at home.
Betty was born in Beverly Farms, MA., and she attended school in Medford, MA. She graduated from Fisher Secretarial School in 1941, and worked as a secretary for Revere Sugar Co. until 1943. In that year she married her high school sweetheart, Capt. Malcolm - Joe - McNall, who had just returned from a combat tour in Africa and Italy. During the war and for the next twenty years Betty accompanied Joe on his assignments and always remained busy with her 4 youngsters and in officers' wives activities. In 1983 Betty and Joe left northern NY for sunny Beaufort, SC. Betty became involved as secretary and official greeter for the Royal Pines Homeowners Association. She was also active with HELP of Beaufort and St. Peter's Catholic Church. Betty was looking forward to this November 20th when she and Joe would celebrate the 70th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband Joe, daughter Janice, and three sons Mike (Kathy), Peter (Emma), and Scott (Sharon). Also surviving are granddaughters Katherine (David), Sarah, and Melissa; grandsons David, Matthew, and Jackson; and great-grandson Colin David Mittiga.
The family will receive friends before the 12:30 pm memorial mass at St Peter's Catholic Church on Monday, November 25. Interment will follow the memorial mass at Beaufort National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to Help Mobile Meals - Post Office Box 472, Beaufort, South Carolina 29901.
