Emma Lee Williamson, born December 1, 1927 in McPhersonville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home in Beaufort, S.C. in the early hours of Friday, November 27, 2015. Emma was the daughter of the late Walter and Leila Owens of Hampton County. She was married to and is survived by Francis D. Williamson of Beaufort.

She was employed many years as a seamstress with the Parris Island Marine Corps Taylor Shop. Her whole life she enjoyed being actively involved with the community, family and friends. She served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the local Beaufort V.F.W. Post, at the District level, and for the state of South Carolina. She was an active member and volunteer with Cornerstone Christian Church in the Mossy Oaks area for many years, and for the past decade an active member of the Beaufort Church of the Nazarene. Emma's favorite passions were cooking, rooting for the South Carolina Gamecock football team, never missing an Atlanta Braves game, and spending time at the beach with the family she used to say to all the kids, "If the beach sands of Beaufort get between your toes, you'll never leave home."

Emma is survived by her husband, Francis D. Williamson of Beaufort, S.C., her sister Roberta Ciminski of Portage, Michigan, sons Tommy Gilbert of Tucker, GA. and Walter Gilbert of Hinesville, GA., stepson Frank Williamson of Senoia, GA., daughters Susan Graham of Beaufort, S.C., Deborah Barreto of Okatie, S.C., and Janice DuBay of Beaufort, S.C., and stepdaughters Linda Foss of Lillington, N.C. and Virginia Shirley of Rocky Mount, VA., fifteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

For the past year Emma has been in hospice care provided by THA Group, cared for by many whom she came to love and welcome each day into her home.

A viewing will be at Copeland Funeral Service - One Copeland Drive, Beaufort, S.C., 5:00pm-7:00pm, Saturday, November 28, 2015.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 in the chapel at Copeland Funeral Service, with burial following at Noon at the Beaufort National Cemetery.
