Evangeline Heaster

Evangeline "Egie" Heaster passed away at the age of 72 after battling cancer for the past sixteen months.  She died at her home on Saturday, October 10th surrounded by family and loved ones. Egie was a native of West Virginia who settled in Beaufort in 1970, when her husband, James Heaster was transferred to the Naval Hospital.  Egie was a nurse for fifty years and worked for Beaufort Memorial Surgical Specialists for twenty years.  She took great pleasure in taking care of her patients, her "Docs," and her family.  She loved to work in her garden, visit with friends and spend time with her family.  She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, at The Baptist Church of Beaufort. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Virginia  23060-9979.
