Evelyn Blanche Koth

Evelyn Blanche Koth, 75, gently passed from this world on Jan 4, 2021 in the company of loved ones in her home in Beaufort, SC, less than 10 miles from where she drew her first breath on Parris Island in the Naval Hospital. She was eternally her daddy's girl, a daughter of the south, and a child of spring, wearing its bright florals and dusting her cheeks with its pinks. Her favorite color was yellow, matching the daffodils that greeted her at birth.

Other than her family, Evelyn loved these things above all else: God, cooking, sewing, and people. She showed her love through food. Entering her home, her children, family, and friends were swept up in the aroma of macaroni and cheese, made from scratch bread, fried chicken, butter beans, sweet potatoes, stewed okra and tomatoes, and the rich taste of pound cake. With the support of her quilt guild and sewing group, she also expressed her affection and creativity through gorgeous quilts sent across the country to those she loved.

A graveside service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, January 8, 2021, in Evergreen Cemetery on Bladen Street, Beaufort.
