Febie Carlos Paeste Knight passed away with her family at her side on November 6, 2024 after an unexpected hemorrhagic stroke. Febie survived a devastating abdominal aortic aneurysm on June 23, 2024 and was recovering at home with her family in Beaufort, South Carolina. God called her home after an incredible journey. Febie was a true testament to a life well lived.
Febie was born on February 11, 1965 in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte, in the Philippines to her parents Zoilo and Celedonia Paeste. Her mother named her Febie after the month she was born. She was raised alongside her three brothers in modest beginnings. Her brothers say she had a business mindset even in her elementary days. She sold bananas, munchkins, etc. to provide for her needs in school. She was tenacious, strategic, and excelled throughout her education. Her parents were so proud of her. In high school she studied at Northern Mindanao Colleges Inc, and was one of the first lieutenants in the Citizens Advanced Training (CAT) program. She was also a member of the Drum and Lyre Corps. She began college, first considering a career in engineering but felt called to Physical Therapy.
Febie studied Physical Therapy at South Western University in Cebu City, where she met friends that remained with her throughout her life. Friendship doesn’t quite describe the devotion, honor and love between her friends and classmates. She was often described as the life of the party by her closest friends. She graduated and passed her boards on the first attempt. She began her career working in the Philippines, but was soon inspired to work abroad by her closest college classmates.
She was hired by a travel agency and began working in the United States as a Physical Therapist. This brave and charismatic woman took her new surroundings by storm. She was a force to be reckoned with. Soon after her adventure in the United States began, she traveled to Florida where she met Albert Knight, her husband, on a blind date. They fell in love and were married a short time (and according to Feb a dozen proposals) later. Febie became Albert’s world, and Albert lovingly refers to her as his everything. In 1993, they had their son, Joshua. While raising her family, she had many crowning achievements. Febie became a naturalized citizen of the United States which she took great pride in. Febie embodied the American Dream. She bought and then built her own clinic, Ridgeland Physical Therapy. Her motto, “we keep bodies in motion,” was also a statement of how she lived. Her clinic touched the lives of many all over South Carolina; she took pride in putting her patients back together and getting them back to living their lives to the fullest.
Febie not only could talk the talk when it came to health, but she walked the walk. She held fitness as one of her highest priorities. She was a competitor in CrossFit, a jazzercise instructor, and a runner. She made many friends throughout her athletic ventures that she became close with. Her performance always defied age and ended with a breathless laugh and two thumbs up. Often yelling “Unbroken!” Febie is survived by her loving husband, Albert Knight. Her son, Joshua Earl Paeste Knight (Jessica Rae Knight). Her brothers Larry C. Paeste (Elma A. Paeste), Harry C. Paeste (Lilibeth A. Paeste), and Jocel C. Paeste. Her sister in law, Chrystal Dow (Jerry Dow). Her nieces and nephews, Geraldine Paeste Cebrian, Crystal Paeste Madrona, Harley Deven Paeste, Harley Dylan Paeste, Savannah Raye Paeste, Marybelle E. Paeste, Jocel June D. Paeste, Kaylee Knight, Damon Dow, Shauna Hughes, Jessica Collins and Erin Knight; as well as several grand nieces and nephews. Febie is survived by a multitude of close friends and family. She had many friends that she considered family, a family that she chose, too numerous to document. She is preceded in death by her father Zoilo A. Paeste and her mother, Celedonia C. Paeste, as well as her sister in law Shannon Knight. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to have a positive impact on the world.
A memorial service for Febie will be held 4:30 p.m., Monday November 18, 2024 at Copeland Funeral Service Chapel.
Copeland Funeral Service is assisting the Knight family with arrangements.
