Francisco Gamez

Francisco Gamez, Gunnery Sergeant United States Marine Corps (Ret.), 66, of Varnville, died
Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at his residence. He is survived by his wife Patricia Diane Gamez, His
two sisters: Irene Vasquez (Art) and Maria Colmenares (Gamez), his two brothers: Alex Gamez
(Melissa) and Danny Gamez (Cindy). His mother n law: Margaret “Mimi” Padgett, his sister n law:
Cathy Brown (Padgett) and his two brother n laws: Kenny Padgett and Micheal Padgett as well
many nieces and nephew from his wife’s side of the family. Also, his nieces: Venessa Colmenares,
Jenise hook (Micheal), Jenna Colmenares, Adriana Gonzales, and his nephew Antonio Colmenares
(Courtney), Andres Gamez, and Trey Gamez. His great-nephews and great-nieces: Weston Hook,
Joesph Hook, Isabella Hook, Gabriel Colmenares, Lyla Colmenares and Jackson Colmenares.
His love for family was great and will forever leave a lasting memory within all of us. Not to go
unmentioned his love for the Marine Corps was profound and he was truly a stellar example of a
Marine while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Forever in our Hearts, Rest Easy Gunny!!

A memorial service for Francisco will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday August 28, 2023 at Sand Hill Baptist Church, 15480 Pocotaligo Road Varnville SC 29944. Unites States Marine Corps honors will follow the service.
