Frank J. Chmelik

Frank J. Chmelik, 88, of Callawassie Island and husband of Diane Chmelik, died May 9, 2016, at MUSC- Charleston. Frank was born in Oak Park, Illinois. He attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.  He was a veteran of the Korean War. Frank worked for Chubb and Sons, retiring after 46 years as Affiliate Manager of Chubb's North American Underwriting Services. He was active in several service organizations including the American Legion and the Boy Scouts. Frank was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting, camping, target shooting, golf, tennis and traveling.  He and Diane visited six of the seven continents. Frank is survived by his wife, Diane, of 63 years. He is also survived by a daughter, Beverly Chmelik of Fairbanks, Alaska; a son, William Chmelik (Sue) of St. Charles, Illinois, and four grandchildren, Christopher, Caroline, Elizabeth and Allison. Frank will be interred at Woodlawn Cemetery at Forest Park, Illinois.
