ST. HELENA ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA - Frank Stoughton McKenna, 85, of St Helena Island, husband of Mary Elizabeth "Maryme" George McKenna, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Born in Bridgeport CT.; son of the late Francis P. and Katherine Kahl McKenna. Mr. McKenna relocated from Connecticut to Beaufort in 1977. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was formerly employed by A & P Tea Company, Publix and was supervisor for the City of Beaufort Parks and Trees Department. His hobbies included gardening. He was predeceased by a daughter Gail Marshall.
Surviving includes his wife of sixty four years; children Karen Parker, Nancy McKenna, Gwen Sanders, and Robert McKenna; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Copeland Funeral Service Chapel with Reader Carol Butler officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
