LADY'S ISLAND - Frederick Carl Ernst, 76, of Lady's Island and husband of Patricia Antes Ernst, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Ernst was born on April 6, 1938 to the late Carl Frederick Ernst and the late Alma Walsh Ernst in New York, New York. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Ernst worked most of his life with Johanna Dairy Farms in Flemington, New Jersey where he and his family lived before moving to Ladys Island eleven years ago. Mr. Ernst was active in several organizations including Family Promise, Thumbs Up, and the Moose Club.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ernst of Ladys Island; his daughter Cheryl Ostman and her husband Gary of Hopatcong, New Jersey, his son, Ronald Ernst and his wife, Cathy of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Sierra Ostman, Jessica Fedorciw, Brittany Ernst, Nicholas Ernst, Justin Ernst and Kevin Ernst; and two great-grandchildren, Karl and Daniel Thomson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, at the Port Royal United Methodist Church at 11:00 am.
