Harold B Cordell

Harold B. Cordell, age 73, of Beaufort passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 in Charleston, SC.

Mr. Cordell was born on February 24, 1950 in Fayetteville, NC, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Cordell. He was a 1968 graduate of Beaufort High School. Following graduation he began his career with the City of Hollywood, FL working with the maintenance department. He continued working with the Beaufort County maintenance department, retiring as a maintenance supervisor in 2015 after 37 years of service. He was a longtime member of First Christian Church where he was a Past Deacon, Past Church Treasurer, and maintained the church lawn. Harold enjoyed fishing, woodworking (especially birdhouses), and antique cars.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cordell was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Cordell and sister, Nancy McGinnis. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Connie Cordell; sons, Harold Brett Cordell (Stacy) and Fredrick Cordell (Tammy); daughters, Melissa Simmons (Jermaine) and Christina O'Brien (Kevin); brother, Charles Cordell (Melba); sister, Betty Doenz; and 11 grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at First Christian Church, 102 Savannah Highway, Beaufort, SC. Burial will follow the funeral service at Beaufort Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to First Christian Church.
