Harry Otley Scarfe Jr., born March 31st, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA. He was predeceased by his parents Harry O. and Emma Scarfe. He died peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on August 21st at The Retreat on Lady's Island with his wife, family and friends at his side. He was the loving, giving and caring husband of Lynda (Hardy), his wife of 38 years. Harry also is survived by son, Greg Scarfe (Md.) wife Cindy, granddaughter Emma and step granddaughter Clare and step grandson Jack. A daughter Danielle Farrand (Tx.) husband Jeff, granddaughter Jazmine and grandson Jake. He was also survived by his brother, Stephen (Linda )Scarfe , nephews, Stephen (Danielle)and their four children, Jason(Kelly)and their two children and Tom (Beth) Hardy (Wa.) brother-in-law and their four children, Dianne Price (Zig) his sister in law and nephew, Jeffrey (Jennifer)Price and their three children. He also had seven step children, Barry (Janice) Wolvin two children Nathanial and Daniel, Wendy Cochran, two children Rachel and Courtney, Jill (Dave) Rodriquez two children Jasmine and Marissa, Beth (Pat)two children Claire and Conor , Amy (Steve) two children Emma and Abby and Bruce and Brian who are deceased. His cousins, Joe Chandler, Jim (Denie) Chandler, Loretta (Jack) Walsh, Teresa (David ) Petty and Julianne (Joe) Duffy.

Harry attended Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. and received his degree in electrical engineering. Following graduation he went into the U.S. Army, served as Second Lieutenant. During the Cuban Missile Crisis he was 'allowed' to spend an additional year. He was stationed at White Sands Missile Base in New Mexico. He then went to work for Westinghouse Corp. and was transferred to Michigan. He then went on to receive his Masters degree from the University of Detroit. He later went to North Electric Supply in Michigan and was President for 20 years. He retired in 2001 and he and his wife, Lynda moved to South Carolina, making their home at Dataw Island.

Harry loved the game of golf and it brought him many great memories through the years that he played. He also loved to ski and learned to fly and truly enjoyed that for over 40 years. He was a quiet man in many ways but had a heart of gold and a gleam that sparkled in his eyes and a laugh that so many loved. He will be truly missed by many.

His love of his Lord and Savior was at the top of his list and he lived his life as a child of God. He and his wife are members of Tidal Creek Fellowship Church and he loved Sundays when he could be there and praise the Lord.

His wife, Lynda would like to thank BMH, MSA Hospice, The Retreat at Lady's Island and many very special friends for their love, caring ways and support during this time. God bless you all.

Harry's' Celebration of Life will be at Tidal Creek Fellowship, 290 Brickyard Point Rd. South, Lady's Island on Saturday Sept. 8th at 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Tidal Creek Fellowship Church or MSA Hospice.
