WALTERBORO - Henry Nicolas Pregnall Bond, Jr., 75, of Walterboro and formerly of Beaufort, South Carolina, died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at MUSC- Charleston, South Carolina. Henry was born in Augusta, Georgia and was a son of the late Henry Nicholas Pregnall Bond Sr. and Elizabeth Hammond Fair Bond. In 1955, at the age of 17, Henry was the recipient of the Carnege Medal for Heroism for saving two children from drowning. Henry was a graduate of Patterson Episcopal School for Boys, Lenoir North Carolina. He was formerly a member of the Parish Church of St. Helena and presently a member of St. Jude's Church, Walterboro, South Carolina. Henry is survived by a son H. Nicholas P. Bond III and wife Kate of Virginia Beach; two daughters Cindy Wilcox of Florence, South Carolina and Paige Bagwell of Columbia, South Carolina; and a brother Stanley C. Bond of Beaufort, South Carolina. A memorial service for Henry will be held 10 o'clock, Friday morning, October 10, 2014, at St. Jude's Church, Walterboro, South Carolina. Burial will be held 2 o'clock, Friday afternoon, October 10, 2014 at the Parish Church of St. Helena Cemetery.
