PORT ROYAL - Ina Mae Wells, 93, of Port Royal, South Carolina went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Ina Mae was born on November 1, 1921 in Colleton County, SC to the late John and Eliza Ulmer. She was educated in Colleton County Schools and lived in Beaufort for over 70 years.

Ina Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wells; her daughter, E. Joanne Niemiec; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Sagar Wells, and five brothers and sisters.

She is survivied by her son, John Wells (Delane); her grandchildren, Scott Niemiec, Christopher Wells, Matthew Niemiec (Elizabeth), Jennifer Woods (Mike), Jennifer Wells (Matt), Renee Gibson (Peter), and Nikki Knight (Jeff). Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Cooper, Katie, Stephen, Davis, Riley, and Jackson. She is also survived by a number of nephews and nieces.

Ina Mae was affectionately called "Mama" by her family and many of her friends. She was a homemaker most of her life and a devoted wife and mom. In 1957, she became one of the first members of Port Royal United Methodist Church in Port Royal, SC and held many positions over the years. Her favorite role in her church was being a Sunday School teacher in the Youth Department and Chair of the Crafts during the Annual Church Bazaar. She had a gift and used her talents to create "love gifts" for others until she became blind. She was a excellent story-teller and shared rich family history with all. She never met a stranger and was a loyal and faithful friend to everyone who knew her.

Ina Mae had several special caretakers, Priscilla Kimball, Sally Rowe, and Maria Ratcliff. These special women meant the world to her and the family is so grateful for the role they played in her life. The family would also like to thank Helena House of Port Royal, her physician Dr. Robert Parrick, and Ashley and Josee of Agape Hospice.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. at Port Royal United Methodist Church - 1602 Columbia Avenue, Port Royal, SC. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with interment in Beaufort Memorial Gardens.

In honor of her love for worship music, the family suggests donations to the Port Royal United Methodist Church Piano Fund.
