James S. McMullan, 86, died January 5, 2021 at residence in Beaufort, SC. He was born February 26, 1934, in Union, MS, son of Spurgeon McMullan and Catherine Hunter.
Jim graduated from Murphy High School, Class of 1951, in Mobile, AL. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 11 years as an Airborne Radio Operator. Following military service, he worked as a Logistics Specialist with Civil Service.
He was a faithful husband, dedicated father, and caring grandfather. He was a loyal Masonic member. He was a compassionate mentor to all, who never met a stranger. He enjoyed golf, tennis, ice cream, and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his former wife, Dorothy Forsythe, a daughter Valetta Duncan, and a granddaughter, Catherine Cox.
Jim is survived by Sister, Betty Pyle, former wife, Alice McMullan, daughters, Sharon McMullan and Denise Rosario, grandchildren Grace Rosario, Nathan Sandusky, and James Rosario, and great-grandson, Colin Rosario.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 8:30 to 9:30 am at Copeland Funeral Service, Beaufort, SC. Immediately following the visitation, the service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 am at Beaufort National Cemetery. A reception will follow the service. Face masks and social distancing required.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
