Jean M Wetzel

April 7, 1930 — December 14, 2022

Jean M. Wetzel, 92, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at her home on Fripp Island, SC.
Jean (nee Schuck) was born in Newark, NJ, and lived in NJ with her husband and
family, until retiring to Fripp Island. She was an avid reader as well as a talented painter and photographer. Her art was inspired through her love of nature. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry A. Wetzel.

She is survived by her brother, Richard Schuck; her five children- Althea DiBenedetto;
David Wetzel; Anthony Wetzel and wife Nerlhuys; Lisa Wingfield and husband
Rich; Kristina Wetzel- as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.

The family offers thanks for the consistent care and services of Fripp Island Security, Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad, and the support of friends and neighbors in the area.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Holy Cross
Mission- 83 Seaside Road, St. Helena Island. A private burial will take place at Beaufort
National Cemetery.

Friends are invited to celebrate Jean's life, at her home, from 2:30 and 4:30 p.m., Thursday, January 5th.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fripp Island Fire Department, in memory of Jean Wetzel, 291 Tarpon Blvd., Fripp Island, SC 29920.
