FRIPP ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA - Joe Viles, 75, of Fripp Island, widower of Margaret Dyches Viles, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. Viles was born in Lake City, Tennessee. He was a son of the late Condy and Carrie Faust Viles. Mr. Viles was a United States Army veteran, a member of The Baptist Church of Beaufort, and was a mechanical engineer. He and Mrs. Viles, who died on Friday, May 20, 2011, were married for 56 years.
He is survived by two sons, Peter Viles of Houston Texas and Marcus Viles of Naples, Florida; two brothers, Thomas Viles and Steve Viles, and three sisters, Frances Poteat, Anne Viles, and Connie Nixon.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, May 25, 2011, at The Baptist Church of Beaufort with the Reverend Dr. Jim Wooten officiating.
A graveside service will be held 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, May 25, 2011, at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Tuesday at Copeland Funeral Service - One Copeland Drive.
