John Black Schreiner, 104, of Beaufort, South Carolina, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at NHC-Bluffton.
John was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was a son of the late Edward and Ruth Foster Schreiner. John went to the University of Pittsburgh. He married the late Jean Tindall Schreiner in 1935. John lived most of his in Pittsburgh and then in Grove City, Pennsylvania. He was employed by Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania as an engineer and was a former member of Grove City Country Club. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Louise Schreiner Botts.
John is survived by a daughter, Nancy Schreiner Corbett and her husband, Dr. John M. Corbett, of Aiken, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Susan Corbett Hammar of Ohio and John Foster Corbett of South Carolina; four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
