Kate Curry Campbell, 97, widow of Colin Campbell of Oak Grove Plantation, Sheldon, SC died Tuesday, January 30 at home surrounded by her five children.
Kate was born April 20, 1920 in Pittsburgh PA. She was educated at Holmquist School for Girls, New Hope, PA, and received a BA in Costume Design from Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, PA. She was employed by Johnson O'Connor Research Foundation. Kate co-founded Pixie Products, in Sheldon, SC. A wonderful mother and avid horsewoman, she started Lowcountry Pony Club in 1960. Throughout her life she was active in volunteer work including Meals On Wheels and Episcopal Church outreach programs.
Kate is survived by brothers- David M. Curry, Crossan H. Curry, 3 daughters- Kate Campbell McCullough, Helen Campbell Rushton, Laura Campbell Kinsey, 2 sons- Colin Campbell, Jr., Arthur Hays Campbell, 8 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Old Sheldon Church, 11:00 am Saturday, Feb 3.
