Kathleen Mesaric
December 10, 1946 — February 7, 2023
Kathy was born in New York City, the beloved daughter of Charles and Emily Donohue. Kathy taught elementary school for 25 plus years in New York, Maryland, and Beaufort, SC.
As her husband, Vince, I was blessed being married to her for 52 wonderful years.
As her daughter, Kim Mesaric Johnson, she was my inspiration and example of how to live life to the fullest. As her son-in-law, Shane, she was the most caring woman to all those she met. As her granddaughter, Gracie, I remember her helping me write my Christmas list for Santa when I was little. As her granddaughter, Savannah, I enjoyed laughing and talking with her while at the beach.
As her son, Tim Mesaric, she gave me the power of positivity and always seeing the beauty in things. The glass was never half full, it was full and overflowing. As her daughter-in -law, Lia, Kathy showed me unconditional love always. She taught me how to have grace with myself and others. She was my biggest cheerleader, and encouraged me and believed in me. As her grandson, Tanner, I am proud to be the first grandchild to make her our Nana. After visiting, she always stood at the door and waved goodbye until we drove off. As her grandson, Jack, Nana was the kindest and most positive person I have ever known. She was always ready to help with any problem and she put everyone else before herself. I remember Nana reassuring me that everything would be okay the day before going to 6th grade because I was scared. As her grandson, Liam, my Nana always let me have spent the nights in Hendersonville, she always had my favorite snack ready for me when I was hungry, and we would go to the local museum and play together for hours. She would take me to the toy store and get me legos and other toys.
We all loved being treated to her delicious chocolate chip cookies, zucchini cake, and out stretched arms always ready for a hug. Her mantra was…I love you more!
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 Thursday, February 16th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathy will be held at 11:00, following visitation at the Church.
