Laurie Bergstresser Johnson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurie Bergstresser Johnson. After over a year battling cancer and just short of her 72 nd birthday, Laurie passed away comfortably on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Friends of Caroline in Ridgeland, SC.

Laurie was born May 2, 1953 in East Stroudsburg, PA to the Rev. John B. and Dawn Bergstresser. She graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. Laurie spent many years using her creativity and costuming skills in support of the theater, commercials and movies. As time passed, Laurie’s creativity turned toward baking, gardening, land preservation and traveling the world.

Laurie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Rick Johnson; her brothers Jon Bergstresser and his wife Beth and Jim Bergstresser and his wife Judy and their families along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews too numerous to list, but never too many for Laurie to love. Her smile will be missed by all. Laurie is predeceased by her sister Janice Bergstresser and her brother Alan Bergstresser.

A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
