Nelson Lewis passed away, unexpectantly, in his home on April 22nd
He was born in Fayetteville, NC and lived there until he moved to Beaufort, South Carolina in 1991. He was an engineer and custom home builder there for many years until he joined the team at Sorinex in Lexington, South Carolina in 2013. Nelson became the COO shortly after he began working at Sorinex, as his many talents in the area of vision, marketing, logistics and computer technology led the company into new successful territories.

Nelson was a very active member of Community Bible Church in Beaufort South Carolina and their satellite campus in Graniteville, South Carolina and has been the head of the safety team since 2013.

Nelson’s hobbies including fishing, hunting, boating with his wife, Marion woodworking, cooking and spending time with his 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

Nelson and Marion were happily married for 32 years and enjoyed fishing, shrimping and taking trips together.

He is survived by his wife Marion Hope Lewis, his son, Nicholas Lewis, his stepchildren, Selena Stoney, John Sumner and Angela Sumner, his grandchildren, Addison Stoney 14, Ellison Stoney 11, Piper Stoney 6, Maisie Sumner 5, Willow Sumner 17 months, Eve Sumner 16 months and his sister Laura Stevens and Brother in-law Charles Stevens.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Leo Nelson Lewis Sr and his mother Juanita H. Lewis

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday April 26th at
Community Bible Church
638 Parris Island Gateway Beaufort SC 29906
In remembrance and celebration of the life Nelson Lewis, flowers and/or memorial contributions are equally welcomed. Contributions can be made to Community Bible Church. Burial to follow at Beaufort Memorial Gardens.
