DATAW ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA -  Lynn A. Meyer, 75, of Dataw Island, wife of Donald R. Meyer, died Monday, December 12, 2011 at Bay View Manor. Lynn was born in Ellsworth WI and was a daughter of the late Reverend Paul E. and Marjorie Briggs Graham.  She earned her B.S. from Illinois Wesleyan University and her M.S. at Southern Connecticut State College, in Early Childhood Education. Lynn's passion for learning was realized by teaching school in Westmont, IL from 1959-1960, Pensacola FL from 1960 -1961, and twenty years at Connecticut Pomperaug Regional School District #15 from which she retired. Lynn was a member of Carteret Street United Methodist Church, Dataw Island Research Club, and Dataw Island Book Club. Her hobbies included growing roses, reading and playing the piano. Lynn loved and played nearly all music including jazz, pop, and classic, indeed, playing her piano for 2-3 hours a day. Lynn's' accomplishments included loving and helping people to make them happy! Her favorite pastimes included going to the ocean and watching the dolphins in Jenkins creek. Lynn was predeceased by a sister, Zoe Graham. Surviving include her husband of 51 years, children Scott A. Meyer and wife Nancy of Goshen, CT and Dean K. Meyer and wife Fran of Morris Plains, NJ; a brother Mark Graham of Denver, CO.; four grandchildren, Bradford, Nicole, Samantha and Morganne Meyer. As well as. Brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews, and many special friends. A memorial service for Lynn will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Carteret Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Ulmer officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Carteret Street United Methodist Church Organ Fund.
