Margy Ann Vanderbank of Dataw Island passed away Saturday December 26th, in Atlanta while celebrating her great-grandson's baptism and Christmas with her family. She passed peacefully with her daughter and grand-daughter by her side. Margy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her larger than life presence. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. Margy was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Beaufort, Dataw Island Country Club and a member of the D.A.R. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Edward Vanderbank; her two sisters, Mary Louise Rose and Betty Ruth Gooch; and her nephew Dr. Gary Rose. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Mann and husband Bill; two grandchildren, Van Wolfe and wife Kate and Kimberly Andronaco and husband Nick; three great-grandchildren, Mark and Lily Wolfe and Preston Andronaco; nieces and nephews, Kathy and David Vrshek, Drs. Mark and Linda Gooch, and Lori and Scott Tackett; and great-nieces and nephews, Brian and Melissa Gooch, Paige Gooch, Stephanie and Travis Van Horn, John Vrshek and Ryan, Abby and Alex Tackett. A graveside service for Margy will be held 1 o'clock, Tuesday, January 5th at Beaufort National Cemetery. Following the interment, there will be a memorial service held at 2 o'clock at First Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow in the church social hall.
