Steve Wilson (69) of Beaufort, SC passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from cancer. He loved his family deeply and is survived by his beloved wife Anne; his daughters K. Leigh Wilson Campbell and husband Wesley, and Jennifer Wilson and finance Chad Pate; his granddaughter Allison Riggs and husband Tyler; his great grand children, Emma, Keiton and Asher; his mother Cornelia (Connie) Wilson of Commerce, Georgia and brother Phil Wilson and wife Sheila of Winder, Georgia and his aunt Beth Pierce of Commerce, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father Marion D. Wilson (MD). Steve was born in Jackson County Georgia ensuring a Georgia Bulldog fan from birth. He was a graduate of Young Harris College and later served in the United States Air Force. This service also launched his love of flying. Steve moved to Beaufort in the early 1980's to open a new hotel and fell in love with the Low Country. He later became the Deputy Director of Marine Corps Community Services where he was proud to be in service for Marines at the Marine Corps Air Station and Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island. His love of country was surpassed only by his love of family. He had a passion for golf - for both the game and the friendships it fostered. He loved football especially high school and college and was an official in the Southern Conference. Later in life he loved traveling with Anne to many golf destinations around the world. A celebration of Steve's life will be held at a future time. Donations may be made in Steve's honor to any charity in the support of men and women in uniform
