Martin Dorsten

Martin Kenneth Dorsten age 66 of Port Royal SC passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 in Beaufort SC. Marty was born September 14 1956 in Dayton Ohio, the son of the late Rosemary (Didrick) and Clyde K. Dorsten.

In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by his stepson Charlie Padgett.

He is survived by his loving wife Dianne (Fletcher) Dorsten; daughter: Nakia Dorsten of Chicago and stepdaughter Olivia Padgett of Beaufort; grandchildren: Valentine Gelato and Ryleigh Padgett-Donella; brother: William Dorsten (Vicki) of Xenia Ohio; a niece, two nephews and several extended family members of Ohio; along with numerous friends.

Marty was retired from Sunbelt Rentals. He was employed for 15 years.
He was a hardworking, quiet man, who enjoyed the simple things in life. Marty was the kind of man who felt your honest word and firm handshake were golden. Marty’s last few years of life were difficult; yet he faced every health battle without complaint. Through every circumstance he used the time to grow stronger in his faith and to offer forgiveness and to mend relationships.
This warrior was tired and his body was a little broken but his heart was no doubt full when the Lord called him home.

Remember him, his ornery smile with a twinkle in his eye. Honor this devoted husband, loving father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend by loving your family deeper, placing a high value on friendships, and cherishing the smallest of things.
The family will receive friends 9:30 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2023 St. Peter’s Historical Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception.
