Mary 'Toni' Elizabeth Bell McDaniel, 84, died Friday March 30, 2018, surrounded by family at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Toni was born and raised in Beaufort, SC, the daughter of the late Howard P. Bell and Mary B. Jenkins. After high school, where Toni excelled at academics and athletics, she pursued a degree in Nursing from St. Xavier Hospital in Charleston SC. As the wife of a career military officer, Toni established a stable home life for her family despite the numerous postings both within and outside the United States. Toni was a talented musician who loved to play the piano and often would perform solos at weddings and duty station church choirs. Toni was also an avid supporter of charities and, along with volunteering, would encourage her family to participate in their local church and community.

Toni is predeceased by her husband, Colonel C. Douglas McDaniel Jr., brother Lt. Colonel Richard F. Bell, sister M. Victoria Jenkins and daughter, Cindy M. Johnson.

Toni is survived by her children, Cissy Tice (Frank), C. Douglas McDaniel III (Susan), Bill McDaniel (Megan), Seanne Holliday (Paul), Jenny Osborn (Chris), David McDaniel, brother Paul Bell (Juanita), sister-in-law Sally Bell; sister-in-law Suzi Jones (Chappell) and son-in-law Ben Johnson, 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 10th, at 10:00 am at St. Peters Catholic Church, Lady's Island. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Historic Catholic Church Cemetery, Carteret Street, Beaufort, SC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peters Catholic Church, 70 Lady's Island Drive, Beaufort, South Carolina 29907.
