Mary Jane Ross Pike, 87, of Beaufort, widow of Edwin Weber Pike Jr., died Friday, March 03, 2017 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Mary Jane was born in Morganton, NC and was a daughter of the late Dellie Ray and Cora Irene Shuping Ross. Her love and devotion to family, friends, and golf, The Gamecocks, The Braves and God were unwavering. Miss Beaufort 1950 was the family prayer warrior, physician, coach and entertainer. Her grandsons whom she adored and prayed for daily well know that every home run, birdie and soccer goal that they scored were the result of her prayers and coaching tips. After her children started school she took up golf where she excelled, claiming title to 4 holes in one, many club and tournament championships and most importantly friendships that she embraced throughout her lifetime. Mary Jane was a life time member of The Broad River Garden Club, First Lady of the 1957 Beaufort Water Festival, The South Carolina and Beaufort County Women???s Golf Associations and a member of The Baptist Church of Beaufort.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her siblings Conley Ross, Gladys Ross, Thurman Ross, Mildred Ross Smith, and Beatrice Ross Conley.

Mary Jane is survived by a daughter Jane Miller (Tom) and a son Jim Pike (Linda); seven grandchildren Ross Miller, Clark Miller (Scottie), Weber Pike, Mattison Pike, Nicole Berge, Becki Abrams (Jeff) and Shaun Berge (Melissa); siblings Billy Ross, Frank Ross (Betty); and a brother-in-law Dr. James J. Pike.

A funeral service will be held at 11 o\'clock Monday, March 13, 2017 at The Baptist Church of Beaufort with The Reverend Dr. Jim Wooten officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will follow at 1 o\'clock Monday at Beaufort National Cemetery.
