BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA - Mary Louise A. Reese, 78, of Beaufort, wife of William N. "Bill" Reese, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Mary Louise was born with a great deal of musical talent. She took piano lessons at an early age and won a full scholarship to Julliard, but was too young to accept it at age 15. She attended the Women's College of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, where she played piano accompaniment for music majors and met her husband Bill. After following Bill for almost 50 years in textile computer accounting, they retired to Beaufort in 1994. In Beaufort, she played the piano for church services at First Presbyterian Church as needed and other social events. She also played twice a month for Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Beyond her music she was also active in the D.A.R. and PEO. Mrs. Reese is survived by her husband of 57 years, two daughters Mary Reese Teal of Matthews, NC and Lynda Reese Williams of Charlotte, NC; two grandsons Lt. James William "Bill" Teal USN of San Diego, CA and Charles E. Teal of Charlotte, NC. A memorial service for Mrs. Reese will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 9, at First Presbyterian Church followed by a reception to receive friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church, the Unitarian Fellowship of Beaufort or the Alzheimer's Association.
