FRIPP ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA - Mary Jane Doane Russell, 81, of Fripp Island, South Carolina, husband of Thomas M. Russell, died Sunday morning, July 17, 2011, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
Born in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. Doane and the late Hilda McCready Doane. Mary Jane worked as a teachers' assistant at Springbrook High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. She spent most of her life in Silver Spring before retiring to Fripp Island in 1988. Mary Jane had a variety of interest including working cross word puzzles, reading, playing cards, cooking, entertaining, and arts and crafts. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Thomas M. Russell; two daughters, Lynn Trimmer of Annapolis, Maryland and Christine Wells and her husband, Alex, of Wayne, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Stacey Trimmer, Andrew Trimmer, Connor Wells, and Hayden Wells, and her twin brothers, Eugene Doane and Jack Doane.
A memorial service will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, July 19, 2011, at Fripp Island Chapel. Burial will be in Silver Spring Maryland.
