Michael J. Skurkay

Michael J. Skurkay, 60, of Callawassie Island, SC, died suddenly on Saturday, June 11, 2016. He grew up in Piscataway, NJ and attended Rutgers University. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth, and his two brothers, Matthew and Lawrence. Michael was a computer consultant in the telecom industry for 30 years.  Eventually running his own consulting company, Martin Business Solutions. Currently, Michael was employed by Elavon Computing as a senior performance engineer. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Carol, and by his sister, Deborah Sivco, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.  Michael loved learning; he enjoyed life's experiences and everyone he met.  His special interests were biking, woodworking, kayaking and golf.  Michael will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends in New Jersey and South Carolina. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016, at 4:00 pm at the Callawassie clubhouse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
