LADY'S ISLAND - Nancy Duke McEachern died suddenly Monday Feb. 2, 2015 at home, which she dearly loved, on Broomfield Creek, Lady's Island, South Carolina. She was born Nov. 2, 1923 in Wellsville (Allegheny County) New York, the daughter of Harold and Ruth Miller Duke. She was predeceased by her brother, Philip Hastings Duke.
Nancy was married to the late Loyd Richard McEachern (Mac).
She is survived by their five children, Sue McEachern McIntire, Bluffton, SC; Stephen Duke McEachern, Charlotte NC; Leslie Davis McEachern, Glen Gardner, NJ; Lindsay McEachern Hicks, University Park, Maryland; John Stewart McEachern, Beaufort, SC. Also surviving are grandchildren T. Stewart Ketchin, Kate H. McEachern, Gregory D. McEachern, Austin M. Hicks, Susannah M. Hicks, and four great-children.
A private family service will be held on Sat. Feb. 7. To celebrate Nancy's life, a gathering of friends and family will be held at 2:00 p.m. on the patio of Saltus River Grill, Bay St., Beaufort, S.C.
