Nancy Allen Rasmussen, 77, beloved wife of Birger Kristian Rasmussen, II, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022.
Nancy was born December 7, 1944 in Nashville, daughter of the late James Wiley (Buddy) Allen and Ladeva Bigger Allen-Teague. She graduated from Donelson High School, Class of 1963. Married to Birger on November 26, 1994, they shared 28 years of life and love full of adventurous trips, Margaritaville concerts, and meaningful daily devotions. Nancy lived life to the fullest by being a dear friend to nearly everyone she touched. She shared her grace and wisdom freely. Nancy had an abundant love for both people, and pets. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Nashville Chapter for 15 years and had perfect attendance. Nancy was a member the Sea Island Quilters Club in Beaufort. She loved quilting and jewelry making especially when shared with others.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Birger K. Rasmussen, II; her three stepdaughters Karen Rasmussen (Cal) Sawyer, Cindy Rasmussen (Rob) Wilson and Libby Rasmussen Adamson; seven step grandchildren Callie, Annie Lee, and Clay McLaurin, Emily and Walker Adamson, and Hannah and Ben Sawyer. Nancy is also survived by her brother J. Gary (Terri) Allen; sister Kaye Allen Fields; nieces and nephews, Lisa Bryom, Zachary, Jenna, and Judson Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Roger Marvin Jarvis Jr. of Nashville, TN.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 am on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Woodbine Funeral Home-Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolesville Rd., Nashville, TN 37211. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service at 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Beaufort, SC at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Chapel, 650 Battlefield Parkway SE, Leesburg, VA 20175.
