Richard (Dick) Labelle, 87, passed away on Dec 3, 2022 in hospice near his home in Beaufort, South Carolina surrounded by his family members.

Richard was born on April 20, 1935, a son of the late Armand Labelle and Eva Labelle of Marlborough, Massachusetts. He graduated from St. Viator Catholic High School in Marlboro, MA and ultimately a graduate of University of Miami, Florida. He became a engineer in the naval nuclear industry and held positions at Newport News Shipyard (Newport News, VA), Westinghouse Offshore Power Systems (Jacksonville, FL), Westinghouse’s MTD Division (near Pittsburg, PA) and Savanna River Site (South Carolina). He married Elaine Kolinsky on July 4, 1959 in Hollywood, Florida. Dick was an active member of Knights of Columbus at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach FL. He enjoyed fishing, flying, family, seafood and absolutely loved Elaine.

He was widowed by Elaine Kolinsky Labelle. He was the father of 4 children. He is survived by three children: son, Thomas Labelle of Columbia, SC., daughter, Mary Anne Becker of Beaufort, SC, and son, Richard Labelle of Juno Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, and five great-grand-children, who were the blessing and light of his life. He has a host of family members, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and those he considered to be family and friends in Vero Beach, Florida.

The family will hold a prayer service for local friends and family, in Beaufort, SC 1:00p.m., Thursday, December 8th at Copeland Funeral Service Chapel – One Copeland Drive. In January, the family will hold a celebration of live for both Elaine and Dick in Central Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Friends of Caroline Hospice www.fochospice.org .
