BEAUFORT - Robert David Riedmayer, 85, of Beaufort, South Carolina and widower of Mary Riedmayer, died Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Mr. Riedmayer was born on May 23, 1929 in Toledo Ohio and was the son on the late Albert Riedmayer and the late Cora Cocroft Riedmayer. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War. Mr. Riedmayer was a graduate of the University of Toledo and was a retired accountant for Owens Illinois Corporation and a mathematics teacher at Springfield Local Schools in Springfield, Ohio. After moving to South Carolina he taught mathematics at St. Helena Junior High School and Lady's Island Intermediate and Middle School. Mr. Riedmayer was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, and was a fly fishing champion and Olympic qualifier in that sport in 1947.
Surviving are his sons, David Riedmayer and his wife, Stephanie, of Beaufort, and Michael Riedmayer and his wife, Susan, of North Charleston, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Brian Riedmayer and his wife, Emily, Brett Riedmayer, Brittany Riedmayer, Cory Riedmayer, Ben Riedmayer, and Trey Riedmayer; two great-grandchildren, Meredith Riedmayer and Noah Riedmayer, and his dog, Chessie.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Friday afternoon at Copeland Funeral Service - One Copeland Drive.
